A self-test...about the story of diligence and honesty at work

One day, a young child went to a store that had a landline phone. The child was short, but he looked intelligent and diligent. He put up a chair in order to reach the phone, and made the call to have a woman answer it. All this while the store owner followed the call with great interest.

The child spoke to the woman and asked her to work in her garden in order to clean, care for, and take care of the plant, but the woman said that she has an honest person who cleans daily, and the child replied that he would do that with half the salary that this person takes, but the woman refused, so he told her that he would clean the car and guard the gate, but the woman also refused and said  I have someone who performs all these duties with integrity and skill.

The child hung up the phone while the store owner, who was watching with interest, said to him, “Because of your concern, I want you to work for me in this store.” But the child refused and said, “I work for this woman, but I was testing her satisfaction with me.” The man left the store owner amidst great astonishment at him.  This honesty and acumen.

 Don't rely on luck

The shortest story written by the Russian writer Anton Chekhov, and perhaps his most profound short story

Forty years ago, when I was fifteen years old, I found a pound note on the road. Since then, I have not lifted my face from the ground. Now, at the edge of the grave, I can count the products of my life, which are 2,917 buttons, 44,172 pins, 3 pens, 2 handkerchiefs, and a bent back.  And a miserable life.  This is what you get when you rely on luck alone
